Erik Pupo, MBA, CPHIMS, FHIMSS
Erik serves as a Managing Director within the Accenture Health Service Group, where he manages a team of over 250 professionals within the Clinical and Health Management Services team. Erik serves as the lead for the Provider Technology Consulting portfolio where he works on strategic transformation initiatives for a diverse portfolio of clients in the healthcare provider, payer and life sciences industries. His responsibilities are focused on developing and execute growth strategies, investment decisions, transformation programs in support of population health, value based care, and interoperability initiative for a diverse array of Accenture healthcare clients. Erik works directly with a range of clients such as Columbia Health Services, Experian Health, Albany Medical Center, Anthem and Aetna.
Erik has worked for over 20 years in healthcare, including senior positions in federal, state, and commercial healthcare programs and initiatives, and served in key leadership roles within the healthcare community. He holds leadership advisory positions within the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), and the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), and regularly speaks at industry conferences on trends influencing the healthcare industry. Previously, he worked at Deloitte where he led several health IT initiatives for the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC), the Department of Defense (DoD) and the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA).
After graduating from Florida Atlantic University with a Bachelors of Finance in 1997 and a Bachelors of Arts in History in 1998, he received his MBA from Lynn University in 2004. He received a certification in the Certified Professional in Healthcare Information & Management Systems (CHPIMS) in 2009 and became a HIMSS Fellow in 2012.
