Melissa brings more than 15 years of experience in philanthropy. In her current role she is responsible for spearheading innovation and strategic partnership between ACS and top tier like-minded peer and research institutions in order to get new cancer treatments to the bedside quicker. Before being promoted into Principal Partnerships, she served as Director of Major Gifts at the American Cancer Society where she was responsible in building relationships and working with community leaders, philanthropists, and foundations. Previous to her work at ACS, she served as Director of Development at Georgia State University where she worked with various constituencies to build resources for the students, faculty, and programs for Georgia State.
Melissa’s development career began at the University of Georgia where she worked to build relationships between Alumni and the University. She also served as a consultant to a non-profit in the Atlanta area that raises research dollars for an early detection test for ovarian cancer and spreads awareness. Melissa has a particular passion for innovation and a drive to make a difference in the lives of those around her every day.
